OREGANO

Smoky Oregano Sour

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz True Story Rye Whiskey
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz oregano honey syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • Egg white (optional, for texture)
  • Fresh oregano sprig (for garnish)

Oregano Honey Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2–3 sprigs fresh oregano

To make the syrup:

  1. Combine honey and water in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add oregano sprigs and simmer gently for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, let steep for 15 minutes, then strain and cool.

To make the cocktail:

  1. Add whiskey, lemon juice, oregano honey syrup, bitters, and egg white (if using) to a shaker.
  2. Dry shake (without ice) for 10 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  3. Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
  4. Strain into a coupe or rocks glass.
  5. Garnish with a small sprig of fresh oregano.
