POUR YOUR TRUE STORY
A BARTENDER’S GUIDE TO STORYTELLING WITH TRUE STORY WHISKEY

WHY STORYTELLING MATTERS
At True Story Whiskey, we believe every pour has a past—and bartenders are the modern-day storytellers. This guide is your cheat sheet to turn your cocktail creation into a captivating moment that connects with our brand and community.
1. WHAT MAKES A GREAT STORY?
Every cocktail has a reason behind its name, flavor, or vibe. Use one of these angles:
• Heritage: A nod to your roots or family traditions.
• Inspiration: A person, place, or event that inspired the drink.
• Emotion: A feeling you want the drinker to experience.
• Culture: A local flavor, seasonal moment, or regional twist.
Tip: Keep it real. Authenticity over polish.
2. CRAFT YOUR COCKTAIL WITH PURPOSE
Make True Story Whiskey the centerpiece, and think about:
• Why this whiskey? What flavor notes are you highlighting?
• How do the other ingredients support your story?
• What makes this cocktail yours?
Checklist
• Name your drink creatively
• Include full recipe: Ingredients + steps
• Use garnishes or glassware that visually reinforce your story

3. CREATE STANDOUT CONTENT

Photo Tips
• Use natural light
• Clean background (wood, bar top, rustic textures work well)
• Show the bottle clearly
• Add a human touch — your hands, a pour shot, a smile
Video Tips
• 30–60 sec max
• Speak your story clearly or use captions
• Include action: shake, pour, toast
• End with a cheers or signature move
• Bonus: Vertical format performs best on social!
4. POSTING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Post to Instagram, Facebook or TikTok
2. Tag @TrueStoryWhiskey
3. Use hashtag #PourYourTrueStory
4. Include your cocktail name + full recipe in the caption or video
Deadline: September 5, 2025
5. NEED INSPIRATION?

• A smoky riff on your grandfather’s Old Fashioned
• A highball that tells the story of your first bar shift
• A sour that reflects your favorite city’s vibe
FINAL TIP: BE YOU.

We’re not looking for the flashiest drink—we want the most
meaningful one. Your True Story is worth sharing.
