PARSLEY

The True Green

A savory, herbaceous cocktail with a clean, garden-fresh profile.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz True Story Rye Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz dry vermouth
  • 1/4 oz parsley syrup (recipe below)
  • 1 dash celery bitters (or orange bitters for a twist)
  • Lemon twist or parsley sprig (for garnish)

Parsley Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley (flat-leaf preferred)

Instructions:

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add parsley and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, let steep for 15 minutes, then strain and cool.

To Make the Cocktail:

  1. In a mixing glass, combine whiskey, dry vermouth, parsley syrup, and bitters.
  2. Add ice and stir until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist or a small parsley sprig.
