PARSLEY
The True Green
A savory, herbaceous cocktail with a clean, garden-fresh profile.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz True Story Rye Whiskey
- 1/2 oz dry vermouth
- 1/4 oz parsley syrup (recipe below)
- 1 dash celery bitters (or orange bitters for a twist)
- Lemon twist or parsley sprig (for garnish)
Parsley Syrup:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley (flat-leaf preferred)
Instructions:
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat.
- Add parsley and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, let steep for 15 minutes, then strain and cool.
To Make the Cocktail:
- In a mixing glass, combine whiskey, dry vermouth, parsley syrup, and bitters.
- Add ice and stir until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or a small parsley sprig.
