The Hendersons, specifically Lincoln and Wes Henderson, are widely credited with pioneering the "finished whiskey" category, particularly within the context of American whiskey. They are best known for creating Angel's Envy, a bourbon that was innovatively finished in port wine casks after initial aging in charred oak barrels. This technique was made commercially viable and popular by the Hendersons, making Angel's Envy a standout in the American whiskey market.
This finishing process enhances depth, complexity, and character—bringing out bold, unexpected flavors that set our whiskey apart. Premium Finishing Barrel & Cask Selection
Barrels and casks, while often used interchangeably, have subtle differences. Technically, all casks are barrels, but not all barrels are casks. Barrels typically refer to standard wooden containers, while casks specifically denote vessels used for aging spirits, often with particular shapes and sizes designed for maturation.
We source premium finishing barrels from around the world—each chosen for the unique characteristics they impart. Whether it's the deep richness of sherry casks, the dark fruit notes of wine and port barrels, or the velvety smoothness of Amburana finishes, every selection is intentional, adding new dimensions to our whiskey's profile.
